Greetings Boils and Ghouls. A quick update, resurfaced and UVed those pieces below. Had the opportunity to take an art test for a company that I'm pretty sure I can't show. And have been working on a logo for a buddies coffee shop. And when not doing that I started playing The Secret World by Funcom and watching AMC's The Killing. Secret World is pretty great, just tons and tons of horror refs, and game play is decent. Killing kind of meh should of just rewatched Twin Peaks, which I probably will once done. And while working on that logo for my buddy I sketched up the logo for my non-existing cafe "Unholy Grounds" obvious would be horror/zombie themed, so here is that.
Should be posting some more stuff for the Fish scene in the coming days.
Always remember to double tap.

More Assets
Good evening boys and ghouls. Did some work on a few of the other pieces. A bit of a different process on this then normal, typically I'll bring one piece though the pipe line at a time, but I've just been wanting to hang out in ZBrush, so that's what I've been doing. Gonna spend a little more time on the chair and the table leg, then I'll move to retopo, maybe do the picture frame first we shall see.

AHHH....
no not real monsters. Just how I have been feeling the past couple weeks. Sorry to anyone that actually follows/reads this blog. Have not worked this past chunk of time, been dealing with unemployment, applied to a couple of studios that looked good, and had the girlfriend in town so all that ate up my time and stressed me out. Some of it is sorted out some of it isn't, should be back at it by Monday. So, sorry for a lack of any updates, to make up for it here's a monkey I did a long time ago.

Se7en - Fridge
Been an interesting past week or so. Did some camping, stayed at me ma's for a couple days and got back home sick. So unfortunately haven't much done work on the scene. But I started this guy, will finish it up tomorrow, and start something else. Decided to go with Telltales The Walking Dead for art style. Hope you'll dig.

Se7en
Well I have decided my next project. Hopefully I'll get it done in a timely manner, well... get it done at all. Going to aim at the gluttony scene in David Finchers Se7en. I've taken a bunch of screen shots and done a floor plan. I do believe I'm am going to start with the fridge. I think I'll be posting assets on here as I finish them and probably start a polycount thread at some point. Stay classy.

Moviefest Challenge 2013
Just finished up a contest over at gameartisans.org Moviefest Challenge 2013 Take a character in a film and turn it into a game asset. I picked something sorta random, just watched the film again and decided to go with it. Mr. Simms from Tales from the Hood. Was going for a Telltale's The Walking Dead style in texture. The model is far denser then need be but they gave a budget of 16,000 triangles so i used them, a ton in the face. Didn't get the likeness as close as I would have liked, hopefully with the next model. And here is my work in progress thread for the model.
Thanks for stopping by.

Creature Box
Polycount has an Art Jam where they have a topic for two weeks and you just contribute to it if you wish. Couple weeks ago they had one for Creature Box and this was my contribution. Worked on it a couple of nights for a few hours.

Fishies
As promised here are the fish I have been working on, a juvenile Garibaldi and an Opel Eye Fish. These are just flat diffuse in Maya view port. They are setup for Mental Ray but I'm waiting for the final scene to adjust materials to that. And I'll post a couple images once that is done. But it will be awhile.

What I've Been Doing
Been a long while since posting anything, going on two years geez. But that tends to be the case when you're working, and not doing any personal pieces. Anyway, I have been laid off yet again, so time to update.
For the first small chunk of time I was working at The Base Studio where I got to do a bunch of rotoscoping for stereoscopic conversion on Captain America - The First Avenger. Which was a lot of fun, on the negative I was not in the film credits nor did I get an IMDB credit. Que Sera. But I did get to learn a new program (silhouette), met some new people, and again had a lot of fun while doing it.
Now we are at what has eaten up the last year and a half of my life. Working at Touchfactor.
As production on Captain America was winding down, and layoffs were beginning, my buddy got me an interview at his studio. Which went well, so it lead to a short term contract then to another and finally to a full time position. However, the game hasn't come out so I can't show any work as of yet. Hopefully in the near future
My current plans are to work on a couple of fish for a friend (should be posting some of that soonish), create an image for the header and continue to update this thing as I look for work.
